Hindu deity Chinnamasta is an enraged manifestation of Mahadevi. She represents the ten goddesses of the esoteric Tantric tradition and stands for both life, immortality, and recreation as well as death, temporality, and destruction. She communicates spiritual self-realization and Kundalini awakening. Although no specific tool for the beheading is described in any tradition or in any other puranas or upanishads, the goddess is holding her own severed head in her left hand. Depending on how she is perceived, she embodies Devi's dual nature as both a life-giver and a life-taker. She is an expression of sexual vitality as well as a representation of sexual restraint. She stands for immortality, enjoyment, and both life and death as well as destruction and time.
The serpent around the goddess's neck represents Kundalini Shakti. The sexual yearning is symbolized by the two women, Rati and Kama. The bare body represents the rejection of the material world. One must restrain their sexual inclinations and let go of their ego in order to activate Kundalini Shakti. The goddess standing between the pair is a representation of how completely in control the woman is of her sex needs. Her head serves as the image's representation of ego. Consequently, the decapitation represents how she has severed her ego. Ida and Pingala Nadi are represented by her two female yogini companions, while Sushumna Nadi is symbolized by her head. Therefore, three streams of blood come from her neck, one of which enters her mouth, and the others are swallowed by her female yogini companions on each side of her. It represents that when Kundalini Shakti awakens, it drinks off all the blood in the body.
